The ONCC Residential Committee met on May 16, 2018. The following items were discussed:

RESIDENTIAL SOUND INSULATION PROGRAM O’HARE PHASE 17
The CDA consultant reported that 1,020 dwellings were identified for Phase 17. A total of 691 homes were enrolled in Phase 17 program to date, along with 57 alternate homes that were invited in previous phases. The homeowners from 272 homes did not enroll and would be asked to be part of a future program phase. Phase 17 Status Report

RESIDENTIAL SOUND INSULATION PROGRAM O’HARE PHASE 18
The CDA staff reported that a status letter would be mailed to all residents in Phase 18.

UPDATED O’HARE RESIDENTIAL FACT SHEET
The CDA staff presented the updated O’Hare Residential Fact Sheet. The fact sheet had been updated to reflect Runway 15-33 removal and also updated the total number of homes that had been sound-insulated. The CDA has sound-insulated 10,925 homes since the beginning of the program. The total number of homes completed will be updated with the completion of Phases 17A and 17B. Phase 17C has 132 homes enrolled and Phase 18 has 530 homes. When completed there will be a total of 12,468 homes that have been allocated. VIEW FACT SHEET

STATUS OF ODOROUS WINDOWS
The CDA staff reported 2,000 homes located at O’Hare were identified to have Sound Solution windows. These homeowners received a letter asking them to report any odor from the windows. To date approximately 90 homes located near O’Hare have a window odor confirmed. The city of Chicago remains committed to finding a solution to address this issue.
