ONCC Chairperson and Arlington Heights Mayor Arlene J. Mulder testified in a special hearing on “Aviation and the Environment: Noise” Oct. 24, 2007 before the Aviation Subcommittee of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Chaired by Illinois Congressman Jerry Costello, the committee and panelists responded favorably to ONCC’s approaches to addressing aircraft noise and support for noise-related initiatives. Mayor Mulder articulated the need for Congressional support for the Federal Aviation Administration’s focus on NextGen, which defines the FAA’s priorities for environment, safety, security and other aspects of aviation through 2025.
