From time to time routine maintenance must be performed on the runways and taxiways at O’Hare International Airport. Due to operational safety restrictions, this work is usually done in the overnight hours. Also, this work occasionally forces a closure of runways and changes normal departure and arrival patterns for aircraft. The Chicago Department of Aviation publishes reports on this maintenance work to keep residents around the airport aware of possible changes in operations patterns.
